“The Red Door Kitchen provides over 36,000 meals per year to individuals who for whatever reason are unable to prepare a noon meal,” said board chairman Billy Sparkman. “This is a tremendous blessing to our board members, our staff, and our volunteers who deliver the meals each day and we are tremendously thankful to our community for supporting this ministry. As the largest single donor to Red Door Kitchen last year, the Afternoon of Praise made possible the continuation of our service to the Talladega community and we cannot say THANK YOU enough for all the love and support this program provides.”
Charles Montgomery, president of The Samaritan House – Talladega, Alabama, said “The food collected at the Afternoon of Praise is the second largest food collection we have each year. Because of the influx of canned and dry goods, we do not purchase any food from the Community Food Bank for a couple of months and we can use those savings to help more clients with delinquent utility bills.”
