AOC Christmas Carol Concert
Talladega’s Historic Ritz Theatre will be open Sunday, December 13, for the Talladega AOP Christmas Carol Concert at 4 p.m.
The theatre is proud to be able to facilitate this joyous musical event which will enrich our community for the holiday season This amazing assembly is made up of 25 Afternoon of Praise singers from area churches who are thrilled with the opportunity to contribute to our community’s celebration of the Christmas season with the traditional and sacred carols we all love.
Admission is free, and attendance will be limited to 270 guests, or 50 percent Ritz seating capacity on a first-come, first-serve basis. A love offering will be accepted at the concert to support Red Door Kitchen and Samaritan House, two of Talladega’s most worthy charities.
Sunday’s AOP Christmas Carol Concert will be the culmination of an active weekend of holiday events in Talladega including the Pilgrimage Council’s holiday market with local vendors on Saturday and Sunday at Brannon’s; First Family Services’ family screening of POLAR EXPRESS at 10:00 am Saturday with photos with Santa afterwards; plus the Christmas Shoes for Kids benefit concert at The Ritz featuring The L-L-H Band at 6:00 pm Saturday.
Polar Express Movie With Santa Visit
First Family Services in collaboration with the Historic Ritz Theatre will present a free screening of the Christmas classic POLAR EXPRESS at 10:00 am. Seating is limited to 270 on a first-come-first serve basis, and The Ritz will be in full antiviral protocol. Masks will also be required to be worn by all who attend. Christmas bell souvenirs will be handed out, plus cookies and hot chocolate will be served afterwards. Arrangements have been made for a special appearance by Santa Claus to greet and take photos with everyone following this free family holiday event.
