Talladega’s Historic Ritz Theatre is excited to present the region’s biggest summer concert featuring Black Jacket Symphony performing AC/DC’s “Back In Black” at 7:00 pm. For four decades, AC/DC was one of the most popular and internationally successful hard rock/blues rock bands. “Back in Black” became the band’s most defining and popular albums, selling over 50 million copies worldwide. After the first set when the album will be performed in its entirety, a second set following intermission will feature AC/DC’s greatest hits. There will be added excitement about this performance because it will be the first major concert after a total interior renovation of The Ritz, including new seats. All tickets are $27 and may be purchased online or by calling the box office at 256-315-0000.

An Afternoon of Praise
For the past five years, in what has become an annual event, Afternoon of Praise singers and orchestra members from diverse congregations across Alabama have spent months practicing before gathering with Dove Award nominee Richard Kingsmore at Talladega’s Historic Ritz Theatre to produce a professional Christian concert and praise experience.
The event raises funds for The Red Door Kitchen and The Samaritan House, two charitable organizations that provide necessary services to those in need in the Talladega community.
These organizations depend heavily on the money raised each year by Afternoon of Praise, so the public’s support is needed and appreciated. This year’s concert will be at The Ritz at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 20. Come prepared to praise God, enjoy music, and to support organizations that help those in need in our communities.
Ticket cost is $20, and are available from Afternoon of Praise singers and orchestra members, at First United Methodist Church of Talladega, 256-362-2891, or at The Ritz Theatre, 256-315-0000. All ticket money will go to The Red Door Kitchen and The Samaritan House.
